AMD64 on maverick - unable to download tor packages - apparently repositry only has older material

Asked by Richard Shoebridge

When attempting to obtain packages for Tor from the for Ubuntu 10.10 I received the following message in Terminal
  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Err http://deb.torproject.org maverick/main amd64 Packages
  404 Not Found [IP: 194.8.197.22 80]
W: Failed to fetch http://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org/dists/maverick/main/binary-amd64/Packages.gz 404 Not Found [IP: 194.8.197.22 80]

E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does the repository not have these yet, or is this a local error at my end ?
If not available yet, can I use the 10.04 lucid files and how is this done in terminal ?

I used these commands
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install tor tor-geoipdb

and I have the following entry in my sources list.
 http://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org maverick main

Any help gratefully received.

Best Regards RS
