I wonder if you have a PPA available for this? That would really make things easier for me.

Why do you think that you need a PPA? There are versions of tomcat in the standard Ubuntu repositories.

What Ubuntu release are you running? What tomcat version are you looking for?

And yes, or course there are PPAs, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=tomcat7 with various versions for the different Ubuntu releases, but without warranty of any kind, in full responsibility of the respective PPA providers, and without support by the Ubuntu community.

Be sure to filter the page once you click on the PPA. Not all PPAs support all releases
