I want to synchronise my nokia N70 with evolution mail or thunderbird (with lightning)

Asked by alistair

I use a nokia n70, and usually synchronize it with outlook in work. How can I do a similar thing with Ubuntu? I also want to be able to get the photos off my phone on to my computer.

Hello,

You can check http://gnokii.org and http://www.gammu.org to see if your phone is supported.
They are only a command line applications which can be used to get the photos off your phone (amongst other things).

Not sure what to download. I'm new to linux and gnokii seems to be the right tool, but I'm not sure what file to download.

With Ubuntu, if you want to install software you should first check if it is available in the repositories (no need to download manually).
more information about installing software on ubuntu here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallingSoftware

If you search for "gnokii" in the add/remove" gui, you find xgnokii that you can install.
