Asked by Sean

being encouraged by Marcobra that I could indeed migrate to Thunderbird easily by not using Evolution anymore.I successfully did......

sudo upgrade /install etc and everything worked well until the final moments entering my smtp details etc and then being asked for a password which I am supposed to enter but cant find any password which will allow me to progress???
Help any one out there!!??

If Thunderbird is asking for your password then you have to enter your email account password, try with <email address hidden> and user without @..

If you are getting "Sending of username did not succeed" then you must have one of the following problems

 * You specified the wrong user name. Perhaps it needs to be your entire e-mail address, or perhaps only part of your e-mail address.

* You are connecting to the wrong server, and this server does not recognize your username.
* Your user name is not yet registered on the server.
* The server is broken.

Here lets assume that you are stuck with the first possibility rather than server and/or account problem then please try editing your account username
try with
<email address hidden>
and
username without @domain.com

Can you help with this problem?
