links on my emails aren't active ( using Thunderbird)

Asked by Patrick Henry

When I get emails with links in them, and I click on the links, nothing happens. I must copy the link, go to Firefox, past the link in the address line and go to it that way. Thunderbird used to provide active links for me; I don't know what happened. Is there somewhere I can turn it back on, or what?

So, what should I do to make my links work again?

Tried changing your defaults in Gnome?

At the top of your screen go to "System > Preferences > Preferred Applications" (sorry, that should be correct, I'm on Feisty now which has changed it so I'm going from the top of my head). And in that window you should now be able to set the default browser that is used which should fix your issue.

Using Dell Inspiron 6400n newly upgraded to 9.04 with Thunderbird 2.0.0.21. The browser is Web Browser 3.5. I am unable to set Web Browser as default, and I am unable to open any links in emails. I have tried Preferred Applications where the Browser always is Custom, and Mail is Custom.
