Upgrade Thunderbird doesn't work

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I have Thunderbird Version 2.0.0.24 (20100317) NL under Ubuntu 9.10 and I can't update it to version 3.
Please can anyone tell me how I can Update to Thunderbrid 3. or how I can install Thunderbird 3 under Ubuntu (linux).

I'm a dummy for Linux or Ubuntu.

Thunderbird 3 currently isn't packaged for Karmic with the exception of the Ubuntu Mozilla Daily PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-daily/+archive/ppa/

We will be making a Thunderbird Stable PPA soon.

Please don't install the package in that blog post as it's no longer updated. The daily PPA now uses the thunderbird source package for Thunderbird 3.
