For the backtrace, try to get down the trace to the _dbus_transport_queue_messages and further down and print all parameters and variables you can. This only happens with an older version of libdbus which I can't install.

Thunar 1.6.4 changes how copied filenames are handled, which could cause a regression? Could the introduction of parentheses in the copied file filename trigger a hidden libdbus bug? See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1183644
