Enabling the "misc-binary-size" option in thunar 1.6.6 was not the solution. It only reduced the crash to show up to a minimum. E.g. before you had 1 crash by 1 file operation. After enabling the setting (and/or disabling it again) the crash had reduced to e.g. 1 out of 10/20 file operations. It was more or less a quick and dirty error trial solution that I found by experiments.

The propwer fix is the reworked one by Harald. Please ask your PPA provider to re-release thunar 1.6.6 with that patch applied.
