petiteannonce under Texworks does not format as package example

Asked by Anne Wainwright

I am running Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat with TexWorks 0.2.3 installed through Ubuntu.

using the (la)tex package 'petiteannonce' (A class for small advertisements) there is an illustrative sample with the code. The example shows 4-up advertisements on 1 page, with tear-off telephone 'tags' at the bottom, the sort of thing that you pin up on the local supermarket community board. The title, description, price, and .jpg image are meant to be shown on each of the 4-up advertisements.

Using this code my end result is misformatted in that the title, description, price, and .jpg image are reproduced once only at the bottom of the page beneath the 4 rows of 'tags'.

There are no error messages generated in TexWorks

I am fully updated on 10.10 as of today

Playing with the numeric variables in the code achieves no repositioning.

The <email address hidden> mailing list is of the opinion that this is not a TexWorks issue and I should try maybe the texlive mailing list. Thought I'd try here first as this is a full ubuntu install.

many thanks for any solutions. pdf of my result on request.

Anne

The pdf documentation is a less than successful example of the art.

The code spans 2 pages with the break at an unfortunate point. The cut and paste of the code captures the page number, which I had removed. Significantly it also captures a blank line to a position between the two arguments of \petiteannonce{}{}

Clearing this blank line rectifies the problem.
