I unknowingly deleted my Gnucash and am stuck as to how to retreive it or download it.

$ sudo apt-get install gnucash

O, sorry for the wrong suggestion , i didn't get tour question properly ,
here is what you can do .

sudo apt-get install testdisk

And try it , if it didn't help to recover .

If you need to recover your hard drive, but can't boot from it, you need to run testdisk from a live cd.

Ubuntu-rescue-remix is a data recovery toolkit on a live cd.

Testdisk can recover your partitions, but in case you run into trouble, you can use parted to fine-tune your partitions. Parted also has a "rescue lost partitions" function that is very useful.
