Try foremost, why do you not have a backup?

I do but, i saved some new pictures in this HD that i didn`t bother to backup and now i`m suffering and worry, would you be able to help me?
Thank you again.

then try photorec

To install it install testdisk package...

Try foremost, its a command line app. I've used it with great success.

How do i install this application? i`m running Win7- 64 bit, do i need a boot up disk w/ Ubuntu in it?
Thanks.

Use a liveCD ubuntu environment. You will need a partition large enough to hld all the recovered data from all of the partition space on the drive (assuming it spinsd up)

Again, why do you not have a backup....

The messega that i`m getting when i try to open the hard drive: could not mount 2.0 TB Filesystem
Error mounting:mount:wrong fs type,bad option,bad superblock etc, etc???? i`m using testdisk-6.13 linux.
Thanks

You can use foremost on the device as it is, no need for test disk

Can you help with this problem?
