How to export a citation to openoffice 2.2?

Asked by Rae

Hi

I'm running Edgy. I have installed tellico-1.2.2-1ubuntu2 using Synaptic and I have openoffice2.2 installed.

I have successfully imported my bibtex file into tellico (great) and would like to add citations to my openoffice document. I cannot find any up-to-date instructions for this. I tried the instructions here (not the compilation stuff):

http://periapsis.org/archives/2006/01/06/tellico_and_openofficeorg.html

but they don't work. Can someone tell me how to get this working?

Thanks

Rae

Have you looked at the Bibliography Database under Tools? It's not a perfect import system, but it is a powerful way to manage large papers with dozens, hundereds, or even thousands of citations. The other thing worth considering would be getting the citation information into Docbook or some other XML, as Openoffice has a very powerful and adaptive XML filter system.

I know neither of those directly answers your question, but OpenOffice is pretty big, and doesn't play all that nice with others. Barring someone else knowing a solution, open up OOBase, and dump your Tellico database into the OO.org Biblio system.

Coincidentally, a similar question came up on the Tellico mailing list.

That might help you out. If not, the best place to ask further questions is the Tellico mailing list.
