Hi,
that are the system requirements for ts3 on linux:
(copied from http://
TeamSpeak 3 Client - Linux
A reasonably modern Linux environment with libstdc++6. Note that Linux distributors may provide packages which have different requirements.
Intel Pentium III, AMD Athlon XP, or any newer CPU (recommended: 800 MHz or faster)
128 MB of system memory (recommended: 512 MB or more)
25 MB of disk space
X11 desktop environment (e.g. GNOME or KDE)
Internet connection
Speakers and a microphone
which cpu do you have and how much RAM?

To install DEB packages, you just right click them then install them, or I think you can just double click them.
If the package is not built for your system (this is one reason why packages should be installed from the package manager, and not randomly from the internet), then it will give you an error along the lines of:
* Wrong architecture (i.e. the contents of this package are for a different type of CPU)
* Unsatisfiable dependency (your package system does not have the neccessary supporting programs that match the ones that this package was built against).
If you can find a PPA, then this is a better solution than using a random deb. The best solution is of course that someone builds the newer version and uploads it into the debian archive, so it is picked up by ubuntu.

@Andree and Mycae: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+; RAM: 1GB.
e.g. sufficient resources available, so that it not a problem.
I think that the problem is that software, meant to run in a Linux environment, does not function into an Ubuntu environment (although Ubuntu has been developed out of Linux).
So why is TeamSpeak3 not already incorporated in a Ubuntu package (as is the case with TeamSpeak2)? Or: how much time does it take to incorporate a newer version of a program that is present already in an existing Ubuntu software package?
Thanks very much for your comments, regards, Daan

i had no problems installing TeamSpeak3-
could you please explain in detail what you did? How did you run it? what is the output?
maybe it is becaus of that the file isn't executable? after i downloaded it i need to set the executable flag.

Hi Andree,
maybe it is becaus of that the file isn't executable? after i downloaded it i need to set the executable flag.
You are right indeed. The extension of the file is -run-. When I click on it, a word processor is opened.
What do I have to do to make this file executable (or in your words: to set the executable flag).
Thanks again,
Daan

you make the file executable by doing a right click on the file and then choose properties. Go to the tab permissions and check the checkbox execute.
or
fire up a terminal and enter: chmod +x path/to/

Hi Andree,
I followed your first given advice and, after executing a run script in Terminal, managed to get TeamSpeak3 working!
I am very glad that it was succesfull,
Thanks again,
