Will systemd package merge bug fixes?

Asked by gexuewen

I found that starting from Ubuntu 22, when using systemd-networkd as the netplan backend, the IPV6 DNS server cannot be obtained through DHCPv6. I reported the issue to the systemd team and they located and fixed the issue. How can I get these updates in ubuntu packages?

Yes, the systemd package typically includes bug fixes in its updates. Systemd developers and maintainers regularly release new versions that address issues, improve stability, and enhance the performance of the systemd init system and service manager. It's important to keep your systemd package up to date to benefit from these bug fixes and improvements.

"How can I get these updates in ubuntu packages?"
Creating a bug report was the right step.

Remark:
There is no "Ubuntu 22".
Every year two different Ubuntu releases are published and the number have four digits, year and month.
You have to distinguish between Ubuntu 22.04 (which is a Long term release, with five years of standard support) and Ubuntu 22.10 (supported only for nine months and thus already in EOL status). see also https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases and https://ubuntu.com/about/release-cycle
