Is there a log file for system errors please?

Asked by bwallum

System error detected - Report error window pops up frequently and I do not know why. Does the system have a log file for all of these instances so that I might get nearer to discovering the cause?

I'm running on development version of Ubuntu Desktop 19.04

Ubuntu 19.04 is not the development version.
Which Ubuntu release are you really running?

There is a known problem, that crash files are not removed after uploading, and the "Report error window" pops up again and again.

Are there some files in the /var/crash/ directory? If yes, you could delete them

Thanks Manfred. 19.04 with development updates set....no doubt well on the way to 19.10 by now.

I have deleted items in the /var/crash directory and in my searching for the way to access log files found this excellent intro:-
