Update to version 1.8.x

I'm wondering when the synergy package will be updated to 1.8.x? Is there anything I can do to help get it updated? I've never done any package maintenance for Ubuntu before, but I'm happy to give it a try.

I suggest you report a bug stating the security and bug fixes that are in the new version. If they are significant then the package will be updated sooner rather than later. If they are only slight then the package will be left.

You can compile the source if you desire. I recommend you use checkinstall to make a deb of your efforts.
