synaptics package manager problem

Every time when I to click on reload button in synaptic package manager I get these messages:

                 W: Failed to fetch http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jaunty/Release.gpg Could not resolve '1@192.168.0.4'

my internet connection has http proxy with address 192.168.0.4 and port no. 3128. every time when i click on reload button in synaptic package manager i get a lot of above messages. btw i am using ubuntu 9.04.

thank u for helping me out. But i couldn't solve the problem yet. your post says to delete the following file. "/etc/apt/apt.conf."
but when i try to delete it, it says permission denied even though i logged in as root.

Can you help with this problem?
