package manager missing programs

Asked by csguru

I'm trying to install startupmanager, and when I update and try to install via Synaptic Update Manager it does not show up as available. I have tried updating the package manager and it doesn't show up as available.

Thanx in advance for the help.

First, which version of Ubuntu are you using?

For me, I'm using Jaunty and I'm based in the UK it appears in: gb.archive.ubuntu.com/universe

Have you enabled the relevant repository? Synaptic>Settings>Repositories . On the Ubuntu Software page I have the first 4 boxes checked.

I'm running the current, 9.04. Moved over to the UK server and I found it so I'm good. Thanx for the direction!!
