synpticpackegemanger wont open it says an error has occured

it says dpkg was interrupted you must manually run dpkg--configure-a how do i do this

This question belongs in answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. It has nothing to do with Launchpad.

Open up your terminal: Applications --> Accessories --> Terminal

Type this command: "sudo dpkg --configure -a"
  Without the quotes. of course, and be careful of spaces.
