keeps failing in update manager
update manager keeps failing saying "Could not download all repository indexes
The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and ensure the repository address in the preferences is correct."

Ubuntu 8.10 is End Of Life. You would need to back up your important data and do a fresh install. =)
Thanks wojox, that solved my question.
Thanks did fresh install of 10.04LTS and everything is nice! But cant get heimdall suite to install it says libusb is not high enough it says "Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libusb-1.0-0 (>= 2:1.0.8)"
any chance you can help with that
