synaptic package manager wont start

i try to open my synaptic package manager but as it starts a error box pops up and reads as follows

"E: Malformed line 50 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (URI parse)
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report."

earlier i tried to include the repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner"
from the terminal as follows
add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner".

can u tell me how i can fix my problem and reset my synaptic package manager

Please open a terminal by hitting CTRL + ALT + T than insert this command and run it:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list -n

than copy and paste here all the terminal says.

thank you
but i deleted the old source list and pasted the default from the net and it
worked
any more suggestions
