where are installed aplications?

I did install applications using Synaptic. I can not find where the application is to run it. Has some way to find them?

Some applications have no menu item so you must create a launcher by yourself, you can launch all applications using terminal by typing the executable file name.
So to get better help please tell the app you have installed and you can try to run...

What is the application?

Try to launch Unity and search for the application.
You can also search in /usr/share/applications/
