Cannot intall WepCrack

Asked by bvor

Hello,

I am an Ubuntu newbie and just tried installing my very first application without any success.

The application that I am trying to install is called WepCrack and although there are a number of .exe files; double clicking them does not start the installation process.

I've tried using the Synaptic solution but really cannot understand all of the steps necessary to make the installation happen.

Can someone please provide me with step-by-step instructions?

Thanks!

As @actionparsnip said, exe are for windows.

To install the WepCrack for Linux, you may open the Synaptic and search for its name. When you find it, right click and select 'Install'. There's a bar with an icon 'Apply Changes'. Click there and the installation will start.

Its easier to use de Ubuntu Software Center. Open it via the dash, if you're using the Ubuntu 11.04 or maybe 11.10 Alpha, and search for WepCrack or any other program you want. Select it from the list, click install and type your password. The USC will download and install your program.

If you need to run Windows programs in Linux, you might like to install a program called Wine that allows you to open exe programs. It's not as fast as a native program, but if you really need them, its a alternative.

Hope it helps. Cheers!
