WMV file won't play

I am having a problem playing my mwv files out of the folder in which I have them stored. I was able to play them before, but then I right clicked on one icon and selected properties and suddenly I am having issues. When i click on the icon, it starts to play and then disappears. But yet I can play the movie in the "recent docuemnts" area in MWV format. Any ideas how to make them play out of their original format?
