Synaptic won't start, updates don't install

Synaptic wouldn't start,
Update manager wouldn't install updates.

Did steps in PackageManagerTroubleshootingProcedure,
said to post Terminal Output.

Here it is

Are you able to start up Synaptic now?

The Terminal output you sent us, looks good enough....

you have to "uncheck" or disable the cd/dvd option, via softwaresources, i think that is "erroring".

PackageManagerTroubleshootingProcedure didn't solve the issue.
Unchecking cdrom in other software fixed it.
Cheers.

p.s. this machine has been up for a fair while and has had updates before, is there any reason it would "select" cdrom at this point???
