what does interface mean

Not sure what interface is for. I guess I want the wireless interface what ever that is. But I'm such a noob , maybe i don't understand what it is

  I think I figured it out, Naturally it has to be the interface that shows a Broadcast address, which is eth1 in my case

an interface is a connection between two thing.

e.g. the gnome desktop is a graphical interface between the computer and the user. that is, it lets you access the computer graphically.

a command line interface, which is the terminal, lets you access the computer by using command lines in text form.
