single replica swift setup

Asked by Viral Patadiya

I am planning a swift setup with single replica, no replicas needed.

So, if I do have 3 zones, 1 server in each zone with 1.5TB /dev/sdb1, my ring looks like

account.builder, build version 3
262144 partitions, 1.000000 replicas, 1 regions, 3 zones, 3 devices, 0.00 balance
The minimum number of hours before a partition can be reassigned is 1
Devices: id region zone ip address port replication ip replication port name weight partitions balance meta
                    0 1 1 172.16.16.61 6002 172.16.20.61 6052 sdb1 100.00 87381 -0.00
                    1 1 2 172.16.16.62 6002 172.16.20.62 6052 sdb1 100.00 87381 -0.00
                    2 1 3 172.16.16.63 6002 172.16.20.63 6052 sdb1 100.00 87382 0.00

container.builder, build version 3
262144 partitions, 1.000000 replicas, 1 regions, 3 zones, 3 devices, 0.00 balance
The minimum number of hours before a partition can be reassigned is 1
Devices: id region zone ip address port replication ip replication port name weight partitions balance meta
                     0 1 1 172.16.16.61 6001 172.16.20.61 6051 sdb1 100.00 87381 -0.00
                     1 1 2 172.16.16.62 6001 172.16.20.62 6051 sdb1 100.00 87382 0.00
                     2 1 3 172.16.16.63 6001 172.16.20.63 6051 sdb1 100.00 87381 -0.00

object.builder, build version 3
262144 partitions, 1.000000 replicas, 1 regions, 3 zones, 3 devices, 0.00 balance
The minimum number of hours before a partition can be reassigned is 1
Devices: id region zone ip address port replication ip replication port name weight partitions balance meta
                    0 1 1 172.16.16.61 6000 172.16.20.61 6050 sdb1 100.00 87381 -0.00
                    1 1 2 172.16.16.62 6000 172.16.20.62 6050 sdb1 100.00 87382 0.00
                    2 1 3 172.16.16.63 6000 172.16.20.63 6050 sdb1 100.00 87381 -0.00

Will this setup work ? except data loss in case of a storage node failure, will there be any issues?

Regards,

Viral
