How do I reset defaults in supertux & supertuxcart (without opening the programme)

I changed the settings in both Supertux & Supertuxcart with the result that I'm unable to quit unless I restart Ubuntu 11.4. How can I get the default settings back as they worked fine then. Reinstalling doesn't help as the changed settings are saved in the system. How can I reset or clear those settings without getting too complicated.

if you run:

cd; la

you may see the config folder there, if not then run:

cd ~/.config; la

do you see it there? When you do either delete, or better still rename the folder (or file) and you will get a new set of configs (with default settings) next time you run the app
