Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs

You need to install the package first before you can remove it. Currently the package seems to be only half-installed, so just install it again.

To play online java games you need a browser plugin package installed. Try the sun-java6-plugin package. If that doesn't work please let us know.

How to install Java

To install sun-java6

Please first enable the multiverse repository:

Open System → Administration → Software sources → [ Tab Ubuntu software ]
enable "Software restricted by copyright or legal issue ( multiverse )"
Close and confirm the repository reload.

Then open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

sudo aptitude update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo aptitude install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

Hope this helps

Is the java game in firefox web-browser? If so maybe open the web-browser and go to
Tools - Add-ons
    In the pop-up box choose
Get Add-ons
Look in there or else try search in Synaptic (System - Administration - Synaptic near the bottom)

Alternatively read Marcoba's excellent guide in the post immediately prior to yours

Good luck and welcome to Linux :)

umm, follow MarCobra's advice - he seems an expert or installing/uninstalling packages from what i've seen in other Answers. Mine is a bit iffy. Just follow the link into Launchpad to re-read his advice.

Good luck
Tom :)
