sun java is about to be discontinued by ubuntu and users are recommended to migrate away from using the package system to install this.

The reasoning is that oracle have revoked the licence to distribute sun-java in packaging systems.

Either install openjdk, which is the free version of java, or install the version from oracle's website.

I am not able to install ubuntu 11.10, up grading from 10.04

I get msg-
