How to Setup JDK 7 in ubuntu and compile JAVA code

Dear Sir,
I am a student of JAVA programming language. Now i use Ubuntu. But i don't know how to setup JDK7 and JRE on Ubuntu. When i install JDK and JRE on Ubuntu how i compile .java file and run the .class file. How i share JDK and JRE for all user and in any place i can run and compile the .java and .class file.
Please tell me the details if any screenshots of this JDK and JRE installation have please tell me the link.
