Java Update in Ubuntu 10.10

Asked by TARAKA PRAVEEN EDE on 2011-05-02

I am using the Ubuntu 10.10 desktop edition and in that i would like to build the Twitter Application in Android Platform.

I already got the packages which are suitable to work with the 10.10(android-sdk_r08-linux_86, eclipse-java-helios-SR1-linux-gtk.tar).

Inorder to build the application i should first extract the packages into a folder and update the sdk using the (tools/android update sdk) command.

While i was performing that it shows an error "Java not found." My problem is how to update the Java from the command line.

Please suggest me the best option as soon as possible.

If you use the search box in software centre, and type openjdk, the first result is what you have to install.

Can you help with this problem?
