When I try to install message is can not find 'sun-java6-plugin' package

Asked by daniel harrigan

When I try to add the plugin package in the Ubuntu Software Center It says Sun Java 6.0 Pluging but there isn’t a button to push to download the plugin. When I push the more info button there isn’t any button to push as well.
It says “To show information about this item, the software catalog needs updating”

“Canonical does not provide updates for Sun Java 6.0 Plugin. Some updates may be provided by the Ubuntu community

I am still at the semi-novice level but can follow detailed directions.

     Thank you for your assistance.

oh. go to system>administration>software sources, then on the second tab, other sources, click on the first item, canonical partner. then try install java again.

Can you help with this problem?
