Problem downloading java plug in

Asked by Bill White

I am using google chrome.

some sites I visit need a java plug in. I have followed the instructions in the ubuntu software centre, which instructs me to type in sun java then go to more info and then install. The problem is that thee seems no where to click to install it as the install option on the file menu is greyed out. Can anyone help or supply an alternative way to install

you need to go into Software Source under the System menu, then go under the Other tab. Select Canonical Partners, then run the sudo commands again in terminal. It should work now.

Can you help with this problem?
