will not boot- syntax error, line 28

Asked by scott

log onto Ubuntu 11.04 pick user, enter password, back to logon. Checked as far as i can and get this. -syntax error, line 28 .
ANY clue as to what iI have done, or how to fix? Still learning ubuntu, so any help is good.

I am the only person on it. As far as what line 28 idk, that is what it told me when i tried safe boot and ran diag.??? I messed it up getting adb set up and going. was working great untill i rebooted now just sends me back to log in!

Create a new user in root recovery mode, you can also boot to netroot and get fully upgraded.

If you rename that file in root recovery mode you will be able to login. I am assuming this is not solved. Once logged in, I can give you my vanilla .profile file and it should get rid of the error. If this is genuinely solved, let us know and we can all move on.
