Just input your OWN password, the password you use for logging in. Just remember that characters does not echo back when typing it from the Terminal. When done typing, just press the Enter key.

That would be the same, Terminal or the GUI-based password window. Input the same password you used when logging in.

That would only work if no other passwords had been configured for the root user. If you're the default and only user, then, the password for raising to elevated priviledges would be your password.

HTH.

if you run:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade

Type your login password (you will get no visual feedback but keep typing then hit ENTER). Does it update ok? What is the output?

If you add firasjk to the admin group as I showed above, then firasjk will be able to use sudo.

Drop to root recovery mode and you can add yourself to the admin group. You can then use sudo
