How to undo partition creation ?

Asked by Shecave322

I installed ubuntu on my computer, I already have Vista but now my vista isn't working properly and i would like to uninstall ubuntu and reinstall it but I need to reformat my hard drive because I partitioned the drive to give both operating systems an equal amount of storage space and I can't figure out how to put the drive back to the way it was before I partitioned the drive please help. How do I get it back to the way it was before I installed ubuntu and partitioned the drive?

How did you have it partitioned beforehand? Note that any data that was on partitions that have been deleted is likely gone, and almost certainly difficult to recover.

i'm assuming you didn't make a backup before you did the partition.
what you can try to do is start vista, tap F8 a few times, enter into safe mode and do a system restore. that should get rid of the partition and recover whatever was written over.

Can you help with this problem?
