You set the password when you first installed when you set your username, the sudo password is the same as that. To reset your password, boot to root recovery mode and run:

passwd foo

replace foo with your username you set. E.g:

passwd andy

You can now set a password which you now know, you can reboot by running:

reboot

then login as expected.

It's the same. Any authentication you need is done by the password you set when you setup your first user. Any user in the admin group can also use sudo and gksudo to get elevated access. There is only one password you need.

Ubuntu amazing graphics, the games use OpenGL if applicable so they will appear similar...

To install software, use software centre and you can install a whole slew of packages from full sql servers to text editors and everything in between, just open it up and search away

The fact that Win7 being mostly used is of no consequence.
