there are some fixes that we need

particulary 5.9.12 fixes

I suggest you report a bug. If the security and bug fixes are significant then the package will be updated sooner rather than later. Ubuntu is not a rolling release distribution so packages can be left in favour of resolving issues with ones with big problems.

Remember to filter the PPAs for your release of Ubuntu. Every PPA doesn't have to support all releases of Ubuntu and, of course, package contents and functionality cannot be assured with packages from PPAs
