If I understand correctly, in stress-ng's terminology, "error:" means something more like a bug in stress-ng itself, rather than a problem it found with the system?

I would prefer not to do that because these are independent questions. But the other two have been resolved so I'll reopen this one.
(Might've avoided using this "Answers" feature instead of "Bugs" if I'd known 100 other people would get notifications for it. Oh well, sorry about that.)
