streamripper + streamtuner = audacious ?

Asked by Gary Mercado

i am listening to shoutcast internet radio via firefox (shoutcast button on my google toolbar) then i wondered how i can record the music i'm listening.
i search the internet for some answers and i came across a website mostly about linux and i read some blogs similar to my problem.
streamripper and streamtuner will record any music shoutcast and icecast plays, as what they say ..
i opened my synaptic package manager and downloaded the two but i noticed the audacious2 came along the download.
at first i thought it is normal, so next after download, applications>sound & video > streamtuner >
the streamtuner window opened and lick the shoutcast tab, icecast tab, local tab, xiph tab? etc etc, and nothing works.
what i see is just another window that says "unable to proceed child process"audaious2 file cannot read" etc etc..
then i again open, applications>sound/video> and i can"t find audacious2..
as i remember, when i downloaded the streamtuner, audacious came along with it but i can't seem to find audacious2.
i decided to remove all the three (streamripper/tuner/audacious) and then few minutes after i downloaded the audacious2 again.
still i can't find audacious on menu , applications>sound/video>>>
few months ago i am using audacious2 on this 9.10 machine but i decided to remove for a while due to frequent crash so i know how to open and use at least the audacious2.
now that i want to try it again, i can not find it after installing..
so , how can i record the internet music stream and copy it to a blank cd and hopefully play on my car stereo?
well i know the easiest way is to buy original cd from a store but the type of music i want is not available on store yet..and for all i know, the stores will also stream rip the music and sell it to me so best i do it myself..
did i missed something why it did not work or just that streamrippper + streamtuner = audacious a bad mathematics?

i found solution,
tunapie and streamripper works.
i can record music stream on shoutcast now,
on tunapie file tab i used totem as audio player and put /streamripper on "path to directory" box,,
to transfer or copy to cd. brasero..
