The current steam package doesn't comply with XDG specifications

I emailed debian maintainers already but I'll post here as well in case I might get it worked out.
The current steam package does not comply with xdg specification well as I have outlined here https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/5272 . I'm asking you to update it so it gets solved.

Then you need to report a bug. The questions only go to the community of users. Reporting a bug will inform the developers.
