statsmodels package

Is a python3-statsmodels package planned?

statsmodels seems to support python3 (see here: http://statsmodels.sourceforge.net/devel/install.html#dependencies). However, there's only a python2 statsmodels package (python-statsmodels). I wondered if there is a known issue with the python3 version in ubuntu, and whether such a package is planned.
