Has starttls gone out of support?

Asked by Bill Hammond

I notice that the package for /usr/bin/starttls is no longer in Ubuntu 14.

Is it correct that gnutls should be viewed as superseding it in Ubuntu?

Has the software itself (Ueno/Josefson) gone out of support?

Is there a place to get up-to-date source for starttls.

Thanks.

There is no Ubuntu 14. There is Ubuntu 14.04 which is LTS and supported til April 2019. There is also Ubuntu 14.10 which is supported til July 2015. Which are you using.

starttsl was abandoned 5 years ago, because of missing upstream support and security problems.
