`su` throwing System Error after SSSD package update

Asked by Vineesh Ramayyan

Ubuntu 22.04.4 container was able to successfully authenticate AD users by mounting the `/var/lib/sss/pipes` folder into the container from the Host machine. All authentication features were working fine including `su`, `ssh`.

After upgrading the SSSD package in the host machine from 1.16.5-10.el7_9.16 to 2.9.1-4.el8_9 this method has now stopped working the `su <username?` command gives `System Error` negative output. The host machine was RHEL 7.9 and now it is upgraded to 8.9.

I suspect there is some issue with PAM. Please confirm if this is a bug or if I need to make some changes in the Ubuntu container or the RHEL host VM.

sssd package in the host machine is `2.9.1-4.el8_9`
sssd package in the Ubuntu 22.04.4 container is `-2.6.3-1ubuntu3.2`
