Any chance of a version bump on this one before the Hardy release?

Asked by GrantMcLean

Hi Guys

SSHMenu is new to Ubuntu since Gutsy, but it looks like you're planning on running with version 3.14 rather than 3.15 which was released in October 2007 (but didn't come through in Debian until February 2008).

I'm the author/maintainer of SSHMenu and also an Ubuntu user. There are a couple of issues that lead me to ask you to bump the version to 3.15 - as currently included in Debian Unstable and Testing.

1. The packaging has now been 'fixed' so that there's an 'sshmenu' package for all platforms with GTK and an 'sshmenu-gnome' package which adds the GNOME-specific functionality. It would simplify things if Hardy users could skip directly to the new package names.

2. SSHMenu is built to be extremely customisable but some significant simplifications to the customisation API were introduced in the 3.15 release. Without a version bump, Hardy users will find that there are major differences between the code they're running and the available documentation for customising the program. Unfortunately version 3.14 had virtually no inline code documentation which would make it even harder for people to reconcile the differences.

Thanks and regards
Grant
