    The mail server must generally be running smtp. For services such as hotmail and gmail, there are often instructions for configuring "POP access". These can usually be used to configure evolution or kmail to meet your needs.

Do you mean you want to have a web application to access your email (much like how gmail/yahoo works)?

You can try installing squirrelmail. You should also have an IMAP server for squirrelmail to work.
