How to speed up minor version upgrade?

Asked by b3nmore

Hi, digikam is broken for all users in trusty (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/digikam/+bug/1317449), which imho is a unsatisfying situation for a LTS release. The last 50+ duplicates of the referenced kde bugzilla bug are from ubuntu users!
Since the fix is just a minor version upgrade of sqlite3, I'm asking if there's anything one could do to speed up this upgrade?

I already reported a bug several months ago: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/digikam/+bug/1317449

Then why do you need a question as well?

You have flagged up the issue via the bug.....

My question was more along the line, if there might be a procedure to increase the importance of the bug.

This is a regression for all digikam users upgrading to trusty. It is one of those bugs, where an upgrade breaks things which worked before (and a cause of frustration to many users). Imo launchpad does not reflect the number of affected users, since there are more reports concerning ubuntu packages in the kde bugzilla. 2 months ago sqlite3 was updated for utopic, but not for trusty. Since than progress seems to have stalled. I know, that the people managing the packages have a lot to do. But in this case, especially since the fix is straight forward, I was hoping, that it could be addressed more urgently.

Can you help with this problem?
