spyder icon disapearing from unity dash

Please help.

Firstly the spyder icon does appears in the unity launcher.

But when I start spyder the icon shows in the unity dash momentarily and then disappears.
After the icon disappears there is nothing to show that spyder is running.
Spyder also doesn't show in the alt-tab list.

How can I fix this ??

Havn't tried that.
I will do shortly.

Tho I dont see how that will help.
There is no alternative icon or placeholder.
There is literally nothing showing in the unity dash or alt-tab menu to show that spyder is running.
