Asked by Linus Michael

Every time i try to convert the m4a files i have to mp3, it always fails, I don't know if its a compatibility issue or something because I can't get m4a files to work with most of my programs

maybe you need to install the un-free codecs (aac, mp3, etc.) first. i don't use ubuntu but the wikis should be full of it.
if so try installing an ffmpeg version from multiverse (should be there as far as i read) and make sure that ffmpeg is set up as aac/mp4 decoder and mp3 encoder; installing lame as mp3 encoder is also a good idea.

you can check if that is really the problem by looking at the log (menu->conversion->show logs) (these files get saved to ~/.kde/share/apps/soundkonverter/log too).

Can you help with this problem?
